WELCOME:

Welcome to the FreeBirds Virtual Fighter Wing. We are an online community with a global presence, dedicated to flying Falcon 4.0 in an online multi-player environment. Founded in 1999, the FreeBirds VFW was founded by a conglomerate of people with the idea for a different type of online community for combat flight simulation: our founders understood that a militant culture is not required to have brilliant and excellent Falcon pilots that follow and practice military techniques where applicable. • Identify a stable and reliable Falcon 4 environment for online flying.
• Provide the most realistic environment possible for an F-16 combat simulator.
• Promote the sharing of information and ideas, and the development of skills within the Wing, and also within the greater Falcon community.
• Maintain an open membership policy with no requirements for members to hold a membership with the FreeBirds.
• Avoid assignment of arbitrary authority or rank within our membership.
• Provide each pilot an equal opportunity to participate and advance themselves as a Falcon pilot.

There is a wealth of knowledge within the Wing, and a great respect between our pilots that is demonstrated daily. Our members strive for realism and for mastery of the F-16 within the simulation. This is what we enjoy.

If you are interested in joining us, please head to the Recruitment page. Your Orientation into the Wing will include your first online flight with a FreeBirds Instructor Pilot; where you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to start the engine, depart the airport, and land safely. Apart from this there are no requirements for new members. You will however be encouraged to participate in our Training Program; offered to all our pilots.
